Connecting Generations Through Music and STEM.

Why Harmony Exists

Chicago is home to outstanding organizations providing music education and training.

Harmony in the Halls does not seek to duplicate their work.

We help create connections to it.

Our role begins with exposure: introducing children to instruments, musicians, and possibilities they may not otherwise encounter.

When interest is sparked, we help families identify established programs where children can continue learning.

And we create opportunities for young musicians to use the skills they are developing to serve others.

Our Model

DISCOVER

Discover music.

Experience an instrument. Meet a young musician. Hear live music up close.

CONNECT

Connect to opportunity.

Find organizations and programs that can help continue the musical journey.

SERVE

Serve through music.

Young musicians bring their talents back into the community through performances and outreach.

What Makes Harmony Different?

We are not another music school.

We are a connector.

We bring together:

  • Children who haven't discovered music yet.

  • Families looking for opportunities.

  • Organizations already doing excellent music education work.

  • Young musicians looking for meaningful ways to serve.

  • Seniors and communities who can benefit from the joy and connection of live music.

DISCOVER

Harmony Discovery

Sometimes the First Step Is Simply Being Exposed to What's Possible.

Harmony Discovery brings student musicians into schools and community spaces for interactive, youth-led musical experiences. Children can hear live music up close, learn about different instruments, meet young musicians, ask questions, and discover what participating in music can look like. These experiences are designed to spark interest—not replace professional music instruction.

A Discovery Experience May Include

● Live student performances

● Introduction to instruments

● How instruments create sound

● Demonstrations of different musical styles

● Conversation with student musicians

● Questions and answers

● Information about local music opportunities

Discovering Music Shouldn't End With "That Was Cool."

A Discovery Experience May Include

A child hears a violin for the first time.

They become interested.

Then comes the question: "How can I learn to do that?"

Harmony Pathways helps families answer it.

Rather than duplicating established music instruction, Harmony connects families with organizations and opportunities where children can continue exploring music.
