Connecting Generations Through Music and STEM.

Founder - Shia

Shia is a violinist and STEM student, as well as the founder of this youth-led organization dedicated to expanding access to music education, STEM learning, and intergenerational connection. He is a sophomore at Whitney Young Magnet High School, where he is a member of the Advanced Orchestra, and he also performs with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Shia’s personal experiences with his grandmother inspired the organization.  Through regular visits to her senior living facility, he observed both the emotional impact of live music and the isolation often experienced by older adults. These experiences highlighted the unique ability of live violin performance to foster connection, improve well-being, and create shared moments of joy across generations.

In addition to his musical training, Shia has traveled to China and speaks intermediate Mandarin, experiences that broadened his global perspective and reinforced the importance of cultural understanding, education, and service. Deeply aware that he has been fortunate to access strong educational and artistic resources, Shia is committed to giving back by leveraging his skills to serve under-resourced youth and underserved senior communities.

Through the intersection of music, STEM education, and community engagement, Shia founded this organization to reduce educational inequities, promote intergenerational relationships, and demonstrate the power of youth leadership to create meaningful social impact.
